Kyle Thomson, assessing a culvert crossing for evidence of erosion, dilapidation and debris

Forward Hydro was founded in 2023 as a specialist water engineering business focused on infrastructure, water resources, mine water management and R&D. We leverage technical expertise for practical solutions, whether its cookie-cutter water modelling and engineering advice or with the use of automation, data analytics, machine learning, computational fluid dynamics or other advanced processes.

Forward Hydro was founded by Kyle Thomson and Mitchell Redenbach to promote innovation and provide a point of contact for businesses, asset owners and other engineers in need of specialist surface water advice.

Kyle and Mitchell are both Chartered Engineers and Registered Professional Engineers in Queensland for floodplain management, flood modelling, hydrology, hydraulics and other water (civil) fields.

Tackling the most complex water issues

At Forward Hydro we don't shy away from complex problems, nor do we cut corners when assessing problematic sites and findings solutions. We provide optimal water engineering solutions and de-risking of assets.
